work it night by night

I'm in the middle of a concert dry spell right now - the last show I saw was at the beginning of February! I have no tickets coming up until the 22nd (Noah and the Whale), followed by the holy grail of weekends at (unfortunately) Madison Square Garden: The Strokes and then the farewell show of LCD Soundsystem.  (Yes, I am one of those non-scalpers that managed to get tickets, though I'm not even sitting in the same section as the person I'm going with...)

I'm taking this moment to flash backwards to the last show, over a month ago: Chromeo at Terminal 5.
Those guys really know how to throw a party. Some (/a lot) of the people around us were obnoxiously bro-y, but they were weeded out slowly throughout the set, and we had a great time!  The first opener was a Japanese band (not entirely my thing), and the second opener was MNDR. She has a really great light show to go with her set, making things more dynamic to fill a space like T5 which otherwise could have seemed overwhelming for one girl on stage and her set of equipment.

Chromeo!

The Suzan

MNDR - every shot was blurry because of the constantly-changing lights.

In the meantime, I've filled my time with old/new shows (Party Down, Bored to Death, Portlandia), streams of albums coming out next week (Dodos!), and even starting some sewing projects for spring/summer.
